Service Description

Age-related macular degeneration is often referred to as AMD or ARMD. This is a leading cause of vision loss and blindness among patients who are 65 years of age and older. The macula is a specific area in the retina, responsible for clarity of vision for distance and reading. There are two different types of macular degeneration: dry type and wet type. Beri Eye Care Associates (BECA) is committed to providing care to patients with diagnoses of ARMD. Depending on individual risk factors and progression of ARMD, patients will be appropriately referred for vitreoretinal consultation/second opinion for optimum care. An ARMD-related office visit will take up to 1.5 hours.
